My Company Blog Has Been Launched

November 8, 2006

It’s been a busy day and night, and stuff is still being developed and made better, because status quo just doesn’t do it anymore (nor did it ever). With that said, I bring to you my company’s blog, which I have already begun contributing to heavily. Our audience is primarily the consumer with no formal background in web design and search engine optimization, so we’ll be building this from ground up. Since techipedia.com is a more advanced blog (for the most part, albeit since my father said that he doesn’t understand anything I’ve written here, I probably should write for a wider audience), most of what is on the beginner level is there.

I have already begun preparing a 4-part series on how to blog for businesses, since we have recently taken a turn offering this option to our clients.

It’s definitely been a fun ride so far, and I’m excited to watch this blog grow.

5 Ways to Make Your New Blog Stand Out

September 27, 2006

Is it too late to start a new blog?

With the prevalence of thousands of blogs out there, I’m sure people have always asked this question of newer bloggers, of which I put myself in the category, well, sort of. I am not new to the world of blogging (I posted my first blog on the MovableType 2.1 platform on May 22, 2002, at 5:02PM. It currently resides on my local Linux box and is of personal nature. It initially had a relatively big readerbase among friends — I didn’t know SEO then or had any intention to make it public — and it since became a very deep personal quest, one that I maintained through the toughest time of my life). Today, I’m on my third day of maintaining this newer, more interesting blog (or so I hope) and I have hopes to continue it as a regular journey.

Am I late? There are so many blog that have 30,000+ readers on FeedBurner … well, maybe only the Google blog. But there are other blogs, at least in the industry of blogs to which I subscribe, that have thousands of readers. I’m not sure I have a reputation to even have 1 subscriber — yet.

The History of Techipedia … and What You Should Know

September 25, 2006

I write on this new blog with high aspirations. techipedia.com is a domain I’ve had for about a year. When I registered it, it was great to see that it was available on all three primary fronts (.com, .net, and .org). I registered all of them with the intentions of making it a tutorial and knowledge base site. While I never had time to quite develop that functionality, it is very likely going to be part of the site in the future… if the domain doesn’t sell (it’s up for auction with about 2 days remaining).

A lot of people have been asking me why my domains are up for auction at what appears to be a costly price. To be perfectly honest, I asked a few people who gave me ballpark numbers near $10k for the package deal due its to uniqueness. The auction price is much lower than that. I guess that the name itself does indeed have potential. However, there is no interest in the domain name as of the present time because there is nothing on the domain… which probably means that with no content, there’s no reason to be selling a domain.
